Garage Epoxy Flooring Process

Epoxy floors are more than just painting your floor. The secret to their longevity lies in proper floor preparation. Without it, your floor is guaranteed to peel or lift soon after installation, which is why many DIY garage floor projects fail. At Alanis Epoxy, we follow a well-defined floor preparation process to ensure your new epoxy floor stays in place and works as intended.

1.

We start every garage floor with mechanical concrete grinding to remove any traces of old paint, glue, stains, dirt and oils. This will also open the concrete pores and help the epoxy bond with the floor properly.

2.

Once the concrete is returned to a clean slate, we repair any divots, pitted areas, and cracks. This ensures the structural integrity of the floor and the epoxy floor. After that, we will sand the repaired areas again and get them ready for coating.

3.

Depending on the system you choose: Solid color, Flake system, Metallic epoxy, a primer coat, followed by a base coat, and then finished with a chosen system.

4.

Once the floor is ready, we will seal it with a protective, UV-stable, light-reflective top coat that will help prevent damage, stains, and wear and tear. Available in different options( high gloss, matte, satin).
